Often, yes. Many neurodivergent people are drawn to shamanism, and many of our students are autistic, have ADHD, are highly sensitive, gifted or twice-exceptional. The flexible way our courses are set up suits many of them well.
Is being neurodivergent a barrier to learning shamanism? #
It is rarely an obstacle, and can sometimes even help! Many of our students are neurodivergent, and it is probable that many shamans in Indigenous cultures would not have been what we now call neurotypical. Neurodivergence covers a very wide range of things, though, so if you are unsure whether a course will suit you, please ask us.
How are the courses set up? #
Flexibly. You can learn at your own pace, from recordings, with captions and transcripts. Attending the live sessions, and being on camera, is optional, and over half of our students never attend live, with no difference in how well they learn. Many neurodivergent students also value being part of a supportive and inclusive online community of like-minded people.
